Job Description

Under direction of the school principal/or appropriate supervisor/Administrator, the Drama Coach is responsible for all aspects of the Drama program.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for mounting two full-length theatrical productions each academic school year (one in fall, one in spring).
• Responsible for organizing and supervising auditions for theatrical productions.
• Responsible for recruiting production staff members.
• In mounting productions, the drama coach provides students exposure to comic, dramatic, and musical forms in theater.
• Responsible for conducting/monitoring/orchestrating daily rehearsals leading to the final production.
• During rehearsals, the drama coach supervises theater games and creative drama exercises relevant to performance development.
• Organize and supervise ancillary committees including: committee heads; crews including business, stage manager, lighting, sound, make-up, costume and publicity.
• Responsible for preparing the production budget, overseeing distribution and collection of ticket monies, regulating/use of replacements lamps and related technical equipment
• Responsible for obtaining and securing all props and costumes

Salary Rate Range
15 % of the Teacher Salary Scale

RIDE Requirements
PK-12 English

ESL Preferred

Qualifications

• Experience working with after school drama programs, preferred.
• You must complete the new hire compliance training prior to your first day of employment
• Bilingual Preferred
• Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check. Selected candidates cannot begin work until passing their background check.
