Hardware Services Clerk
Office of Information Technology
The Hardware Services Clerk is responsible for performing manual and clerical material handling and logistical duties as required to receive, store, and transport and distribute supplies, materials, and equipment. This position is pivotal in ensuring accurate counts and physical integrity of deliveries, stocking shelves and filling stock orders. This position assists with analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and hardware configuration problems, and may assist team members as directed in the software troubleshooting. The Clerk contributes to the overall success of the Hardware Services Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • One year of related experience
  • Experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred

  • Understanding and appreciation for needs of users in an academic environment; tact and sensitivity in dealing with a diverse user community.

  • Occasionally may be required to work nights and weekends as service requires
  • Able to multitask, prioritize tasks
  • Requires the ability to lift 70lbs,moves around campus utilizing hand trucks, climbs stairs and ladders
  • Driver’s License required
  • This position is contingent on a successful authorization to drive Brown University service vehicles.
Successful completion of a criminal background check and education verification is required.
In order to maintain 90% or greater universal vaccination rates on campus, all newly hired employees at Brown University must receive the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine before they begin work and must also receive a COVID-19 booster within thirty (30) days of becoming eligible, unless they are approved for a medical or religious exemption.
